Meet Anya

Founder and Senior Teacher

I am Anya, the founder of Eterna Music and its senior teacher. I hold a Bachelor of Music (BMus) and an AMus, and I have been teaching piano for over thirteen years.

Before founding Eterna Music I taught at Reddam House in Bondi and at music academies across Sydney. That experience shapes how I teach now: with structure and academic rigour, but built around the individual student.

I teach students from age three through to adults, across classical, pop, jazz, modern and romantic repertoire. For younger children, lessons are built on creative, play-based work: singing, rhythm games and storytelling at the piano. Older students and adults follow a structured programme with clear objectives, covering theory, harmony, composition and musicianship alongside repertoire.

I also welcome neurodivergent students, including those with ADHD and autism, and tailor lessons to support focus, confidence and enjoyment.

Students who want them are prepared for AMEB, ABRSM, Trinity College London and HSC examinations, and for the Sydney, St George, Hawkesbury and Ryde Eisteddfods. Each year I host a studio concert, so every student has something to work towards and a stage to play on.

Lessons are available in person at the Killara studio, or online.

Our methods

We place a strong emphasis on the psychology of deliberate practice, teaching students how to deconstruct complex musical problems and engage in highly efficient, goal-oriented study. This rigorous academic framework ensures that our students build the resilience and technical aptitude necessary to excel in examinations, eisteddfods, and their lifelong relationship with music.

We equip our students with the tools to practice efficiently rather than just frequently. We prioritise the cultivation of intrinsic motivation, believing that when students understand the 'how' and 'why' of their learning, they are empowered to unlock their highest potential.
